Job Title: Cognos Analytics Systems Administrator
Duration: 1 year (renewable)
Location: Quebec City or Montreal
Work Model: Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week

Mandate Overview

The Cognos Analytics Systems Administrator will be responsible for administering, configuring, and maintaining the IBM Cognos Analytics environment. The role provides essential support to BI and development teams by ensuring system performance, security, and availability. The resource will also contribute to initiatives involving Power BI, Snowflake, and other data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, install, configure, and upgrade Cognos Analytics environments.

• Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments for optimal efficiency.

• Document procedures, configurations, and knowledge base content.

• Participate in incident management and problem resolution.

• Support ITIL-based change management processes.

• Work closely with BI teams to understand reporting and visualization requirements.

• Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and access security within Cognos.

• Contribute to establishing BI development best practices.

• Support administration and analysis of additional data platforms (Power BI, Snowflake, etc.) in collaboration with technical experts.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in Cognos Analytics administration.

• Proficiency with Cognos tools (Report Studio, Framework Manager) — asset.

• Experience with Motio administration tools (Motio PI, Motio CI, ReportCard).

• Knowledge of PowerShell and JAVA SDK — asset.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure security management.

• Experience with Windows Server 2016 or later.

• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and autonomous.

• IBM Cognos Analytics Administrator certification required.

• Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).

• Knowledge of virtualized environments and monitoring tools.
