Job Description / Role Summary

The Senior Conversion Analyst is responsible for reverse‑engineering Alteryx workflows and converting them into Azure Synapse equivalents. This role decomposes workflow logic, rewrites transformations into SQL‑based or pipeline‑based implementations, and ensures functional equivalence through testing. Working on‑site, the analyst collaborates daily with the Data Modeler and Synapse Engineer to ensure accurate, timely delivery of converted workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and document complex Alteryx workflows, formulas, joins, macros, and business rules.
• Convert all transformation logic into Synapse SQL or Synapse pipeline components.
• Rebuild and validate workflows to match original business logic and output.
• Work with the Data Modeler to align transformation outputs with defined schemas.
• Conduct reconciliation testing, defect validation, and cross‑platform comparisons.
• Optimize workflow logic and eliminate redundant or inefficient transformations.
• Develop documentation, templates, and repeatable conversion processes.
• Support UAT, production readiness, and migration cutover activities.
• Participate in onsite agile ceremonies and cross-team collaboration sessions.

Required Experience

• 7–10 years of ETL/ELT engineering with direct Alteryx migration experience.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to interpret intricate Alteryx logic patterns.
• Experience with Synapse, ADF, or equivalent cloud data engineering tools.
• Proven experience in detailed data validation and reconciliation.
• Ability to work closely on‑site with modelling and engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to retail, loyalty, and customer analytics data structures.
• Experience creating reusable conversion templates or mapping sheets.
